Christmas Carols at Nursery School

Friday, December 14, 2007

Rebecca's Nursery School had their Christmas party 12/14/2007, complete with a mini Christmas 'Concert' where the kids sang Christmas carols. Luckily, I caught every 'precious' moment on tape. Enjoy watching our 'camera shy' child. They did miss a couple of days of practice because of snow days, but you can barely tell (not!).

Walking

Thursday, November 29, 2007

Gregory suddenly has taken off walking. Now that he knows he can do it his little legs are going all the time. He's saying a couple of words (we think) including "that" (while pointing - we think he's asking what's that?). Lot's of Mommas and Dadas, and "up" whenever he is allowed to climb the stairs. We also thought he was saying "bubba" which is what we call his bottle.

He's broken out in hives today. We took him to the doctor's and it's either an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he was on, or a side effect of his mmr vacine he had a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't seem to bothered by it.

Nursery School

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Rebecca has been going to nursery schoool for a few months now. She seems to like it although occasionally she says some of the other kids are mean to her. We carpool with her friend Emma and she loves to play with Emma.

She is very energetic and a lot of fun. She has a lot of trouble listening, especially lately, but is as sweet as can be and a total little love.

Gregory - 11 Months

Sunday, August 5, 2007

Only 9 days until his 11 month birthday and Gregory is doing tons of new stuff. He said his first words "Da Da" and "Mum" and his first sentence "Hi DaDa". Ok - so Greg thinks it was just a random sequence of syllables but I was there. Greg walked into the room and Greogry looked right at him and said "Hi DaDa".

His other favorite activities include watching his big sister, biting, eating cheerios and doing the combat crawl. He pulls himself around on his stomach using his hands and pushes with his toes. He has gotten very fast and likes to race his big sister.

Swimming Lessons 2007

Saturday, July 21, 2007

This week Rebecca started her first week of swimming lessons at the Holden pool. She goes for a 1/2 hour M-F in the 4-5 year old group. Greg took her to her first one yesterday, and I took her this morning. She says she likes it a lot and wants to go back tomorrow. She does everything her teachers ask, except put her face in the water to blow bubbles. Today, at the end, she got to go down the slide. Yesterday when she was done Greg told her he was very proud of her, and he said she gave him a big smile.

Standing

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

**Milestone - Gregory pulled himself up to standing yesterday for the first time (that I've seen). He did it holding onto the seat of one of the little green chairs and was quite proud of himself.

Fireworks 2007

Thursday, July 5, 2007

We took Rebecca to the fireworks in Rutland Tues. (July 3rd) night. Aunt Sue and Uncle Mike watched Gregory, so she had mom and dad to herself and she had a ball. She played on the playground with about 200 other kids before the show started. Everyone was excited and running around like crazy - she was cutting in front of the bigger kids to go down the big slide. When it got close to firework time we went back to the blanket and she joined in the other kids chanting "fireworks! fireworks!" When they finally started she loved them and thought they looked like "golden flowers" and "hair".

Dance Recital 2007

Monday, June 18, 2007

Rebecca had her first dance recital yesterday. She had a big cheering section - 11 family members! She had a great time, but said she was a little scared when everyone clapped for her. She especially liked getting her hair and makeup done by Julie and Aunt Sue, and getting presents at the end. She seemed to enjoy the excitement of being part of a live production, despite suffering from a nasty cold and 102 degree temperature on the day of the show. I will upload pictures and video as soon as I get a chance.

Rebecca Quotes

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Rebecca has a lot to say. I don't know where she comes up with most of it, but I definately want to remember it. Please add anything you have heard her say that you think belongs here or read through the ones posted for a good laugh.

  • Mom, I'm 3 years old, I'm not a child. -January 2007

  • Greg goes into daycare to pick up Rebecca, finds her lying still on the ground with her eyes shut.
Greg: Rebecca, what are you doing?
    Rebecca: I'm a dead T-Rex... I'm just a fossil.
    February 2007

  • "I don't want you to cut him off ... I wuv him!"
    March 2007
Greg and I were talking about how I was going to stop nursing Gregory.

  • While outside helping Greg garden.
"Daddy - you pull out the weeds, I'll watch for T-Rexes"

  • "Mommy, what if the grinch stole everyone's Halloween costumes? Would Halloween still come?"

  • Rebecca got a small splinter and Greg had to use the pin and tweezer method to get it out. She did not enjoy the experience and after she told him this:
"Daddy, when you stuck that pin into my hand, you scared the life right out of my bones!"

Gregory - 10 Months

Gregory is a delightful 10 month old who is as handsome as he is sweet. He has a sweet smile and a deep laugh. Right now he gets around mostly by the combat crawl and can make the "Da Da" sound. He loves to watch Rebecca and finds her quite entertaining and humorous.
